How to create high-value offers your customers will scramble over

Are you a sucker for free samples?

I know I am.

I love the grocery store on free sample day. It’s like an extra treat to power me through the food shopping trip.

There’s just one problem…

I end up buying almost everything I taste.

I walk into the grocery store not knowing how lacking my life is without Baja Fiesta Doritos. But after one bite of the sample, I know I’ll never host another party without these crunchy bites of spicy heaven.

Marketers keep using free samples because they WORK.

Giving people a risk-free way to try a product is a fantastic way to get them to buy.

What if you could include this free sample strategy in your business? To give people a “taste” of working with you and encourage them to pull out their wallet?

There are actually two ways to do this that, when used correctly, are incredibly effective at generating leads and closing sales.

Taste test = high-value offer

In the marketing world, we use the phrase...

How to write your Facebook ad copy (with examples!)

Everybody seems to be focused on one thing when it comes to Facebook ads

The mechanics. Things like…

How to create your ad.

How to access the ad platform.

Or complicated tech tasks like how to install a tracking pixel or make a custom audience or track your metrics.

But the mechanics really aren’t that difficult, once you know what to do (just head to Google for tons of tutorials). And they’re NOT what’s most important.

So what do successful Facebook ads have that unsuccessful ones don’t?

Well, it comes down to a few little things…that really aren’t so little.

A Facebook ad has three main sections:

  • The ad copy
  • The image
  • The call-to-action button (“Learn more”, “download”, etc.)

The image and the CTA button are very important…

But in my 10+ years studying Facebook ads, I’ve learned that the ad copy makes the biggest difference.

The 3 areas of your...

Outsource these 5 marketing tasks to make money and save time

I remember when I first considered hiring someone, I was really nervous about it.

Can I afford it?

Will it be worth it?

Is my business ready?

Looking back now, I can say that the answers to those questions were all a resounding YES.

If I could go back in time, I would have started outsourcing much, much earlier…because it would have helped me grow so much faster.

I heard this great quote from James Wedmore the other day. He said:

“The reason you can’t afford outsourcing is because you’re not outsourcing yet.”

I like that! It’s so counterintuitive, right? But having the right people on your team can actually help you earn more while working less.

I never would have been able to make multiple six figures if I tried to do everything myself. There just aren’t enough hours in the day.

Having a strong team helping with the workload means I have more time for the important work that actually moves the needle of my business and makes the big...

5 things to consider when hiring a marketing agency

Here’s a common thread strong business leaders have in common:

They don’t do it alone.

Instead, they choose to have smart people around them.

“The key for us, number one, has always been hiring very smart people.” — Bill Gates, Microsoft

“It’s about hiring people smarter than you…then getting out of their way…so YOU can focus on the bigger vision.” — Richard Branson, Virgin Group

“It doesn’t make sense to hire smart people and tell them what to do; we hire smart people so they can tell us what to do.” — Steve Jobs, Apple

Maybe you’re starting to see how this is possible…

That you simply can’t do it all yourself and do it all well…

And how outsourcing is the best way to grow your business...

The complete guide to creating a lead magnet that grows your email list like wildfire

More people on our email lists.

It’s what we all want, right?

Because more subscribers = more potential customers = more money for your business.

But how do you actually get those people to join your email list?

The good news is, you don’t have to:

  • Beg people to join your list
  • Purchase an expensive mailing list of potential leads
  • Hassle with tech to install tons of pop-ups throughout your website

All you have to do is create something your audience wants…

And then give it away for “free,” in exchange for their email addresses.

This valuable free something is called a lead magnet. It can take many forms: webinars, e-books, video trainings…

But the simplest — and in my experience, the most effective — type of lead magnet is a free report.

The best part? Free reports are incredibly easy to create. You can write one in about 60 minutes, if you have a proven structure to follow. (And luckily for you, I’m...

How to put together an effective automated follow-up campaign that books new customers every week

More customers.

It’s what everyone wants, right?

But what if we kick things up a notch…

And talk about a way you can get more customers…

  • On autopilot
  • Who are incredibly hot leads and can’t wait to say “yes”
  • Without you needing to do any cold calling, networking, or traditional prospecting

Interested?

Thought you would be.

In the last blog post, you learned how to write a persuasive email.

Let’s build on that today and talk about how to create a campaign FULL of those persuasive emails that, by the end…turns strangers into customers.

Respecting the buyer’s journey

In case you missed us talking about The Buyer’s Pyramid on the Smart Marketing Success blog, here’s a quick recap:

At any given time, only about 3% of your market is ready to buy.

Another 6-7% of the market is open to buying but they might not have a strong ...

4 Ways To Turn Facebook Leads Into Paying Clients

“Facebook leads are crap.”

That’s one of the harshest complaints I get from business owners who use Facebook for lead gen.

“They sign up for my free offer, Andrew, but they never turn into clients. I call them to set up an appointment, and they go dead in the water.”

A-ha. Do you see the flaw in that logic?

Most business owners go straight in for the kill.

They hop on the phone with a new lead right away and try to organise an appointment to go and see them.

What they don’t realise is that, to your prospect, it’s like asking for a marriage proposal right after meeting them! No one’s ready for that kind of commitment right off the bat.

You need to “date” your prospect first. Not literally, of course. But you do need to appreciate lag time and build a sense of trust before people will be ready to say “yes.”

Want to learn the exact Facebook marketing system to “date”...

Most only reach 3% of the market. Here’s where the other 97% is hiding.

Okay, I’ll admit it:

Modern marketing is flawed.

When most business owners start marketing online, they basically pay a lot of money to get a few leads, maybe one or two of which turn into paying clients.

What’s going wrong?!

The problem isn’t that online marketing doesn’t work. The problem is that you’re not respecting The Buyer’s Pyramid.

Unless you understand The Buyer’s Pyramid, your marketing message is likely only reaching 3% of the market. (Yes, 3%! I’ll explain why in a second.)

Want to reach the rest of your market — the segment your competitors aren’t speaking to?

The Buyer’s Pyramid: Why You’re Only Reaching 3% of the Market

The Buyer’s Pyramid is a business model created by Chet Holmes. I discovered it while reading his book The Ultimate Sales Machine and I was amazed by its simplicity and its genius all at once.

Here it is:

The secret ingredient for posts (and ads) your audience will love

If I had a dollar for every time someone told me “Facebook doesn’t work”…

I’d be somewhere between Mark Zuckerberg and the Queen of England on the wealth scale.

Okay, maybe the money wouldn’t add up that quickly, but I wouldn’t go hungry, that’s for sure.

Most business owners think that Facebook doesn’t work because they haven’t seen the results for themselves. They’ve:

  • Put up some Facebook posts
  • Maybe even created an ad

…And they’ve gotten precisely zero new leads.

Zilch.

Zip.

Nada.

But here’s what’s important to understand…

The problem isn’t with Facebook. It’s how Facebook’s being used.

Over the years of working one-on-one with clients, I’ve seen one common mistake that stops Facebook from generating leads.

Once you understand this mistake, you’ll know the missing piece to create your own compelling Facebook posts...

The right (and wrong) way to repeat Facebook content

Is fresh always better?

When it comes to social media content — and this might surprise you — the answer is a big fat NO.

There are a few big myths out there when it comes to social media. Things like:

  • You need to post 24/7 to get any traction
  • Likes and follower count is what really matters
  • Only celebrities can attract thousands of followers

But the biggest one of all is this:

You can only post content once…and then it dies a sad, slow death on your Facebook wall.

The truth is, repeating social content is actually one of the smartest ways to build your brand and leverage your limited time.

Before you throw stones at me for saying that, hear me out on why it works…

What million-dollar advertisers do with their messaging

Before we get into social media strategy, let’s talk about advertising for a second.

Think about the logic behind commercials.

Advertising agencies spend thousands — or in the case of Superbowl...
